This year's burnout contest will be Sunday, September 2nd on Shreve Street starting at 6pm and will be set up in a chock on the back of a flatbed trailer. Thank you to Keith Weagle and Weagle Construction for hosting this contest.
This is a People's Choice award, so bring your friends to cheer you on.
The winner and the runner up will again each receive a replacement back tire.

A perennial favourite, the Show ‘n’ Shine is back this year on Saturday afternoon starting at 1:30 at the Heritage Hall right downtown. This year's contest is being sponsored by Slinger Cycles - thank you, Mike!

Rat Bike Contest
Once again, we'd like to thank NSCC Akerley campus for providing the Rat Bike Contest trophies. It's always wonderful to receive the community support!
Sunday at 4:30 at the Heritage Hall.
The MacGyver Award recognizes an element or item of the motorcycle that recycles or reuses an item in a manner that MacGyver would have.
The Pure Genius Award identifies and idea that is unique or inspirational.
The Now... That's a Rat Award is the choice for the all-around concept of a true rat bike.
The overall award has his or her name added to the Headquarters trophy.
Light the Night
Participate or admire! Either way, enjoy the Light the Night ride through town of "lit" motorcycles, sponsored by JT Leving Well Drilling. Registration takes place at 9pm on Saturday, September 1st at the Welcome Centre by the Tim Horton's on Warwick and Victoria, with kickstands up at 9:15pm.
The route will go down Warwick and along Water and Birch Streets, up Carleton that little way and then onto First Avenue. It will turn back down Warwick and the bikes will be parked on Water Street where People's Choice ballots will be handed out. Voting will finish by 9:45 (or when the crowds stop asking for ballots!) and the winner and two runners-up will be awarded the JT Leving Well Drilling trophies. No cost to enter.
The Nova Scotia Armwrestling Association will be hosting an amateur competition during the Wharf Rat Rally on Saturday, September 2nd (Rally waterfront stage). This is open to all amateur and novice armwrestlers. There will be both men's and ladies' classes. The men's right hand classes are 154, 176, 198 and over 198lbs. The left hand classes are 176 and over 176lbs. The ladies will be open in both the right and left hand classes.
There will also be several challenge matches that will pit the best armwrestlers in Nova Scotia against the best from the other Maritime provinces.You will see several Canadian Champions fighting it out against one another in the Battle of the Atlantic, now an annual event.

The 2018 Tattoo Contest will be held on Saturday at 6pm at the Sunset Pub in Conway.
This year’s competition include the following categories:

- Best small black & gray
- Best large colour
- Best small colour
- Best sleeve
- Best back
- Best overall
Each winner will receive a plaque for themselves, and a trophy for their artist.
Entry fee: $10 per category. Participants will register at the Sunset Pub.
This year, join the Annapolis Valley Precision Drill Team on the grassy area next to Heritage Hall on Saturday at 2pm for your chance to claim bragging rights and a grab-bag of goodies!
Once again, try your skill at the Arena on Shreve Street on Sunday after the Drill Team's 11am show. Full protective gear must be worn.
